21 company heads dismissed on foot of ODCE actions

At least 21 company heads were dismissed from their jobs on foot of action taken by the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement last year.

This is seven times more than the previous year, and includes one of the company directors from National Irish Bank.

The director's annual report for 2005 also says 30 businesses were penalised for breaching the Companies Act, but overall compliance with company law has improved.
