Decentralisation row rumbles on
27/05/2006 - 15:51:08The row over decentralisation continues with new figures showing only one-in-six State agency workers want to move.
The new offices of the Railway Safety Commission in Ballinasloe, Co Galway will be ready by the end of 2008, but none of the staff want to re-locate.
It is just the latest blow to the Government's decentralisation plans.
Plans to re-locate the FÁS offices to Birr in Co Offaly have been causing uproar in recent weeks.
Fine Gael Deputy Billy Timmins has said that he believes State agencies should not be moved out of the capital.
