Investigators seek cause of Westmeath plane crash
26/05/2006 - 07:51:22Investigations are continuing in an effort to identify to cause of yesterday's light aircraft crash in Co Westmeath.
Two 37-year-old Dubliners, Liam Ryan from Clontarf and Joseph McCabe from Lucan, died when the two-seater Cessna 150 crashed into a field in the Raharney area.
One of the men was a trained flight instructor at the National Flying Centre based in Weston Aerodrome, while the other was an experienced pilot training to become an instructor.
The wreck of their aircraft is being inspected by the Department of Transport's air accident investigation unit in an effort to find out what caused the crash.
