Spurs fail with Davies bid
West Brom have rejected a £3.5m (€5.1m) bid from Tottenham for central defender Curtis Davies.
The 21-year-old has become a key figure for the Baggies since the club paid Luton £3m (€4.4m) for his services on transfer deadline day last August.
Manager Bryan Robson believes the England under-21 international has a pivotal role to play as Albion bid to regain their Premiership status next season.
Robson confirmed: “We’ve turned down an offer from Tottenham for Curtis. He is not for sale. If we can keep all of the boys together and bring in a couple of new players, I believe we will have a really good chance next season.”
Robson’s stance has been backed by chairman Jeremy Peace.
He said: “We have made it clear since the day we knew which division we will be playing in next season that it is our intention to strengthen the squad – not take it apart.”
