O'Connor included by champions Cork
2005 All-Star Ben O'Connor has been named in the Cork team to face Clare in this Sunday's Munster SHC semi-final (Semple Stadium, throw-in 4.00pm).
The Newtownshandrum attacker had been suffering from a groin injury but looks set to take his place in a Cork side that is unchanged from last year's All-Ireland semi-final and final wins over Clare and Galway.
O'Connor will undergo a late fitness test before confirming his role at left half-forward.
The 27-year-old's last competitive outing was against Portumna in March's All-Ireland Club final, but he struck nine points (six frees) for Newtownshandrum in a League game last weekend.
O'Connor's inclusion sees Timmy McCarthy switch over to right half-forward.
Clare are due to name their team tonight for what is the sides' 43rd championship meeting - the Rebels lead with 28 wins to Clare's 11.
Cork's John Allen has yet to taste defeat as a manager in a championship match.
The St. Finbarr's clubman, who took over last season, oversaw five wins from five in 2005 - against Waterford (twice), Tipperary, Clare and Galway.
