Bank launch new SSIA declaration website

24/05/2006 - 11:56:48
Bank of Ireland today launched the first dedicated customer website for SSIA customers submit their official Revenue SSIA maturity (SSIA-4) declaration forms online.

Customers have the choice to return their Revenue Declaration form by post or log on to the bank’s dedicated SSIA website www.bankofireland.ie/ssia and click through to the declaration site. They can then complete the declaration online and print out a confirmation directly afterwards.

The bank has also pledged to send an acknowledgment to all online customers in the post.

“The timely completion of this form is critical,” said Ronan Headon, head of savings at Bank of Ireland. “Otherwise customers could miss out on the 25% Government bonus.”

The bank went on to predict that the maturation of SSAI will lead to a greater tendency to save among their customers.

“Our customer research has already shown that most individuals (82%) have found that saving into their SSIA each month presented no financial difficulty to them, even though three-quarters had no previous regular savings before the start of the scheme,” said Headon.

“We expect that most of our customers will continue to save regularly given that they have already experienced the benefits of building up a nest egg.”

With the first maturity date drawing closer, the bank’s dedicated SSIA advice website has received more than 125,000 hits since its launch last October.
