Chiefs' Wilson 'lucky to be alive'
23/05/2006 - 13:26:38Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson says he's lucky to be alive after he was involved in a hit and run accident.
The exuberant frontman was struck by a car while walking on a pedestrian crossing in his hometown of Leeds last Sunday and was lucky to escape with a broken toe and bruising.
According to a statement on the band's website "a 'Ricky trademark jump' has probably saved his life". The jump meant he was flipped over the top of the car, hitting the windscreen, rather than getting trapped under the vehicle.
Police are investigating the incident.
The band's forthcoming live dates will be unaffected.
