Adams challenges Paisley to accept nomination
21/05/2006 - 16:16:09Sinn Féin's Gerry Adams is challenging Ian Paisley to accept his nomination for the position of First Minister at the Northern Assembly in Stormont tomorrow.
Mr Adams said that he wanted to send a very clear and positive signal to the DUP and the whole Unionist community.
He said leadership means making difficult decisions but the alternative means accepting a status quo, which includes sectarianism.
Mr Adams maintained that the nomination was not a stunt, and that he believes it is the right thing to do.
