Robust gains for ISEQ
The ISEQ index was up 39.26 to 7829.99 at 11.30am today after more strong performances in the construction sector.
Grafton Group enjoyed the biggest gain of the day, climbing 21c to €10.96. McInerney Holdings improved by 10c to €12.75, and there were small gains for Kingspan and CRH also.
There were mixed outcomes for the financials, with AIB the best of the bunch, adding 15c to reach €18.75. There was a 12c gain for Bank of Ireland also, who now settle at €14.41. Irish Life & Permanent slumped 10c to €19.90, whilst Anglo Irish remained unchanged.
After yesterday's gains, Elan’s share price slid back again, dropping 33c to €13.50 - the worst of the day so far.
There was better news elsewhere, as FBD climbed 20c to €37.50, Ryanair went up 13c to €6.90, and Paddy Power gained 14c to €14.44.
Shares in Providence Resources plc inched higher by half a cent to €0.095 after today’s announcement profits of €127,000 for 2005.
