Hobbs calls for consumers to speak up on prices

Consumer campaigner Eddie Hobbs is calling on shoppers to bombard Ireland's top supermarkets with e-mails demanding them to drop their prices.

Following the abolition of the groceries order earlier this year Eddie Hobbs is now calling on Tesco and Dunnes Stores to drop their prices by up to 20%.

He says it is time people took the matter into their own hands

“I think that change in consumer behaviour is the quickest way of getting action. There's evidence repeated all over the world that that's the case,” the Rip Off Ireland presenter said today.

“So I'm suggesting that consumers send a message to Tesco and Dunnes, the marketing directors in each case, asking them, where are the discounts?”
