Brown: Fame is hard to handle

The Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown is terrified of the media circus stirred up by his controversial book - insisting he is amazed how "real celebrities" cope with the attention.

Brown, 41, admits he is just a geek and prefers living as a recluse than facing the public.

He says: "I'm just a guy who wrote a book and it still can turn into a circus at times when I go out in public.

"I have no idea how real celebrities handle their fame."
