Lengthy ban for Fessey

Paul Fessey was given a 28-day ban by the stewards at Thirsk after being found to have dropped his hands and lost first place on Dotty’s Daughter in the opening race.

The jockey momentarily stopped riding close home in the Quadnetics Claiming Stakes and was caught by the fast-finishing Best Woman.

In an eventful race, David Allan was handed a seven-day ban for careless riding after an incident which saw Go On Jessica unseat Silvestre de Sousa.
