Fire at County Down school destroys coursework

A school in County Down has been targeted in - what police believe was - an arson attack.

Police say two classrooms and a storeroom at the De La Salle High School in Downpatrick were extensively damaged in the blaze.

Coursework done by pupils in preparation for forthcoming exams was destroyed and a quantity of cash was stolen.

A number of young men were seen acting suspiciously around the school yesterday evening.
