Doherty misses second court date
Troubled rock star Pete Doherty failed to attend a court appearance to review his drug rehabilitation today because he was playing with his band.
The musician has now missed two hearings in succession because they have clashed with tours with his group Babyshambles.
Doherty, 27, of Hackney, east London, was due to attend the court as part of a 12-month community order imposed when he was sentenced in February for seven counts of possessing controlled drugs.
Thames Magistrates Court in east London was told the musician could not attend today’s hearing due to work commitments and last month he also failed to make a court appearance for a similar hearing because he got stuck in Paris after a gig.
Doherty’s band played Berlin last night and are due to play in Hamburg later today.
Despite his failure to attend, the case was adjourned until June 9 when the order will be reviewed again.
