Nine killed as school van plunges into Nepal canal
09/05/2006 - 08:04:00A school van plunged into a canal in east Nepal today, killing at least nine students. Several more were reported missing.
The van was carrying about 24 students when it veered off a bridge and plunged into the canal in the Jhumka area, about 280 miles east of the capital, Kathmandu.
Rescuers were searching the water for the missing students.
