Ahern has third-highest salary among EU prime ministers
09/05/2006 - 08:01:00The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, is reportedly receiving one of the highest salaries of all European leaders.
Reports this morning said Mr Ahern's annual salary of €252,000 was the third-highest among the prime ministers of all 25 EU countries.
The reports said Britain's Tony Blair and Germany's Angela Merkel were the only EU leaders receiving larger pay packets than the Taoiseach.
