Fine Gael to announce plans for toll-free M50 at Ard Fheis

06/05/2006 - 10:54:44
Fine Gael is expected to announce plans to introduce barrier-free tolling on the M50, if the party is voted back into government.

The announcement will be made by transport spokesperson Olivia Mitchell at the 73rd Fine Gael Ard Fheis in Citywest in Dublin.

It is anticipated that the party will say that all road tolls will be State controlled if they succeed in ousting Fianna Fáil in the next election.

Delegates are also expected to criticise the lack of improvement in the health service, as well as Ireland's increasing rates of serious crime.
