Cork unchanged for under-21 decider

04/05/2006 - 13:04:31
Caragh Keane has kept his place in the Cork team for Sunday's Cadbury's All-Ireland Under-21 Football final against Mayo (Cusack Park, Ennis, throw-in 2.30pm).

Manager Tony Leahy has named an unchanged side as Cork bid for glory in the Rebel county's first All-Ireland U-21 final appearance since 1994.

Newcestown clubman Keane remains at centre forward having scored the only goal of the game in last weekend's semi-final replay defeat of Laois. Senior players Michael Shields, Fintan Goold, Daniel Goulding and John Hayes are also included.

Cork's ninth and last All-Ireland U-21 success was back in '94 when current senior hurling star Brian Corcoran lined out at full-back.

CORK (U-21 FC v Mayo) - K O’Halloran; R Carey, C Murphy, S O’Donoghue; D Limerick, M Shields, E Cadogan; A O’Connor, P Kelly; F Goold, C Keane, P Kerrigan (capt); D Goulding, P O’Flynn, J Hayes.
