Bowie may write opera
Music icon David Bowie is considering writing an opera.
The singer rejects the idea of turning his music into a musical, like his contemporaries Queen, Rod Stewart, Billy Joel, but insists he is open to the idea of composing his own classic work.
Bowie says: "Someday, I might do opera. But I don't have a musical in me."
Meanwhile, the music legend said he is to take a year-long break from music because he is "fed up with the industry".
He Heroes singer is turning his back on recording and performing so he can dedicate his time to walking and watching movies.
Bowie says: "I'm fed up with the industry. And I've been fed up for quite some time. I'm taking a year off - no touring, no albums. I go for a walk every morning, and I watch a ton of movies. One day, I watched three Woody Allen movies in a row."
Two years ago Bowie underwent heart surgery after he had a heart attack on stage in Germany.
