ISPCC vows to improve Childline service
01/05/2006 - 08:39:08The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children is promising to improve its Childline service.
It follows criticism that most calls to the helpline for minors in distress last year went unanswered.
Out of 700,000 calls, only a third were answered during the week, and a quarter at weekends.
Paul Gilligan of the ISPCC said they were responding to technological advances in order to do a better job.
