50 calls a day to Government’s bird flu hotline
01/05/2006 - 11:17:35There has been a flood of calls to the government's bird flu hotline in the wake of the recent outbreaks in Britain.
The Department of Agriculture said that it has received up to 50 calls a day over the weekend.
All calls were checked but no infected birds were found.
Irish veterinary experts are being kept up-to-date with the situation in the UK after further outbreaks of the less-deadly H7 form of the virus were confirmed in England.
