Drink prices likely to rise as Diageo plan 5c hike
01/05/2006 - 10:40:13The price of a pint could be on the increase again with the news that drinks company Diageo is planning to raise its wholesale price of beer by five cent a pint this week.
It remains to be seen whether or not publicans will pass on the increase to customers.
Figures show that beer sales and visits to pubs have been falling in recent years, with many blaming the trend on increasing prices.
