US soldier killed by roadside bomb in Iraq
28/04/2006 - 08:12:34An American soldier was killed by a roadside bomb north of Baghdad, the US military said today.
The explosion hit a military vehicle at about 7.15pm local time yesterday, killing the soldier from Multinational Division-Baghdad, the military said.
No other details of the attack, which was being investigated, were provided, and the name of the soldier was withheld pending notification of his relatives, the military said.
The bombing raised to at least 2,397 the number of members of the US military who have died since the eginning of the US-led invasion of Iraq in March 2003.
