Another 1-0 win keeps Drogheda top

Declan O’Brien scored his first league goal of the season as Drogheda remain four points clear at the top of the table with their sixth 1-0 win of the season.

Longford had the best chance of the first half on 15 minutes when Andy Myler brought a terrific save from Dan Connor from Alan Kirby’s cross, but still went in a goal down at the break.

That came on 35 minutes in a classic counterattack.

Connor caught the ball from a Town corner and released Stephen Bradley who surged forward to cross for Declan O’Brien to tap the ball past Shay Kelly.
