US insurance firm to lay off 500 in Belfast
26/04/2006 - 13:45:17A US insurance firm has announced plans to lay off 500 workers in Belfast in an effort to reduce its costs.
Prudential said today that it would be closing its call centre in the city's Clarendon Dock and transferring the jobs overseas.
The company is also closing call centres in Bristol and London as part of the cost-cutting plan.
