Shooting 'reinforces need for more garda resources'
25/04/2006 - 12:03:53The Labour Party has said this morning's gangland-style killing in Dublin reinforces the need for the Gardaí to be given extra resources.
The victim - a man in his 20s - was shot in the head in the Donaghmede area last night.
Labour TD Brendan Howlin claimed today that gardaí would be able to tackle the perpetrators of such crimes if the Government gave them the means to do so.
"They know who these people are. They know who their bosses are," he said.
"What they need is… the resources and manpower to ensure that there is a clear signal given to them that we want them taken off the street."
