FF’s McDaid to announce resignation from public life
25/04/2006 - 07:24:49Former government minister Jim McDaid is expected to announce his resignation from public life in the coming days.
The Fianna Fáil TD for Donegal North East is expected to make the announcement in an interview with a local newspaper in his constituency.
He is expected to say that he will not be standing in the next general election.
The 57-year-old has been at the centre of a number of controversies, the most recent when he was caught driving down the wrong lane of a dual carriageway near Dublin while under the influence of alcohol.
