Goal hero Harewood revels in Cup triumph
23/04/2006 - 18:05:52West Ham hero Marlon Harewood believes reaching the FA Cup final puts the gloss on a wonderful season for the Hammers.
Harewood scored the only goal of the game against Middlesbrough at Villa Park to send Alan Pardew’s men into the Millennium Stadium final where they face Liverpool.
The Hammers were promoted from the Coca-Cola Championship last season and are now on the brink of confirming their place in next season’s UEFA Cup.
“It’s a fantastic day,” said Harewood on Sky Sports. “It tops our season, with the way we’re playing this season we have to keep going.”
Harewood struck in 78th minute, ending a run of five games without a goal.
“I’m not sure where it came from but I’m very happy,” Harewood added.
