Man arrested following car chase
21/04/2006 - 20:43:21A major garda search continues in county Roscommon this evening, following an attempted robbery at a house earlier today.
One man in his 20s has been arrested in Lanesboro. Gardaí in Longford, Roscommon and Carrick-on-Shannon in Leitrim are continuing the search for the second man.
The search for the man is centring in a small area just outside Ballyleague on the Roscommon-Longford border. It follows an attempted robbery at a house near Strokestown at around lunchtime today
A high-speed car chased ensued but the white saloon the culprits were travelling in was abandoned between Roscommon Town and Lanesboro.
