Calls for Martin to clarify Motorola situation
21/04/2006 - 15:41:58Demands are being made for the Minister for Enterprise to clarify the job loss situation at Motorola in Cork.
It's feared that up to 150 jobs could go as the company reports a downturn in their Networks sector.
The company has confirmed that it has held discussions with some workers about future business requirements.
It's expected that workers will be let go by the 1st of June.
Cork Fine Gael TD Simon Coveney says the Minister needs to tell the public exactly what is going on, adding: “The sooner that we get clarity on what’s happening publicly the sooner we can try and address the situation and end the rumour mill which is certainly very active at the moment.”
