Church to take legal action against fan

20/04/2006 - 15:34:58
Welsh singer Charlotte Church is planning to take legal action against an American fan who insists he has been in constant contact with the star over the past two years.

Californian mechanic Kevin Bedingfield, 48, claims he has been chatting via email to the Crazy Chick hitmaker every day, and even says she serenaded him over the phone.

But Church's representatives are adamant Bedingfield is "deluded".

Church's manager Mark Melton says: "These chats never happened. This guy is a bit deluded. He contacted the UK press last year.

"I thought he had gone away but we may now be forced to take action."

Bedingfield says: "I know people will say anyone could have posed as Charlotte in an internet chat room, but it was her.

"She even rang and sang to me over the phone. Who can mistake that voice?

"Charlotte's lawyers are in the UK and I am in the USA. What can they do? If Charlotte's manager wants to take legal action he is more than welcome to."
