Two more road crash victims
Northern Ireland’s roads claimed another two victims today after a driver and passenger of a van crashed outside Belfast.
The Volkswagen van left the road at Hyde Park Road in Mallusk, north of the city, at around 3.20pm.
Only one vehicle was involved in the incident.
Police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the accident to help their investigation.
A total of seven people have died on the province’s roads since Saturday.
Six-year-old Rory Hunt from Downpatrick was killed yesterday in a crash with another car on the Castlewellan Road near Clough in Co Down.
Five other people, including his parents, were treated for head, neck, leg and pelvis injuries following the accident.
Janeen Black, 19, from Pomeroy, Co Tyrone, died on Saturday evening after the car she was travelling in collided with another vehicle on the Tullyvar Road, near Dungannon, at around 9.30pm.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, 19-year-old twin brothers Wayne and Marc Wallace and their friend, 18-year-old David Campbell, all from Belfast, died in a crash on the outskirts of the city.
The teenagers lost their lives at around 1am on the Ballygowan Road. No other vehicle was involved in the accident.
