ISEQ down as financials suffer

The ISEQ index of shares started the week in the red today, down 63.26 points to 7793.27 in early trading.

The financials were worst hit, with Irish Life & Permanent shedding 45c to €19.50 this morning.

AIB was down 34c to €18.40, while Anglo Irish lost 17c to €13.03. Bank of Ireland was also in the red, down 20c to €14.60.

Insurance group FBD was one of the few stocks in the black this morning, up 20c to €38.50.
