Aer Lingus passengers due home after emergency landing
17/04/2006 - 08:41:38More than 300 Aer Lingus passengers were flying back to Ireland this morning.
Their flight from Chicago to Shannon was diverted to Goose Bay in Canada yesterday afternoon amid safety fears.
About three and a half hours into flight EI-124, passengers noticed an odour similar to burning plastic.
The captain made the decision to take an emergency landing and the plane landed safely at about 5pm yesterday in Canada.
