An outstanding performance, an Oscar-nominated one, from Adams, better known for her small screen work, sets this story of a dysfunctional family apart … as does that of fellow-TV actor, McKenzie.
The story concerns art gallery owner Davidtz’s efforts to secure the work of an exciting new artist, a task which involves a visit to the Deep South where she meets her husband’s odd-ball family.
In a film which isn’t afraid to let some wonderful dialogue and a strongly character driven plot move at its own pace, there is much to enjoy in a very human film.
