20 gunmen take over Palestinian cabinet building
13/04/2006 - 09:58:26A group of Palestinian gunmen took over the Cabinet building in the West Bank city of Ramallah in protest against the Hamas government, a member of the group said.
The gunmen are from the Al Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, a violent offshoot of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah Party.
Fatah, which dominated Plestinian politics for decades, was defeated by Hamas in January parliament elections.
In a protest against Hamas, about 20 Al Aqsa gunmen seized the Cabinet building, an Al Aqsa member said.
