Trimble signs new Ulster deal

13/04/2006 - 18:51:31
Ireland winger Andrew Trimble has signed a new three-year contract with Ulster, which will keep him at Ravenhill until 2009.

Trimble has enjoyed a meteoric rise this season since making his competitive Ulster debut at the start of the campaign, producing a string of performances that impressed reland selectors.

The 21-year-old won his first Test cap against Australia in November and finished the Six Nations as Eddie O’Sullivan’s first-choice left winger, ousting Ulster team-mate Tommy Bowe from the position.

The theology student is a wiry threequarter who can operate at centre or on the wing.

Ulster have made their final signing for next season with Australian tighthead prop Tom Court agreeing a two-year deal.

Court is Irish qualified and was one of the best shot-putters in Australia, where he has been a member of the Queensland Reds Super 12 squad.
