Schumacher: Never write Ferrari off
Michael Schumacher insists Ferrari should not written off despite their disappointing start to the season.
The former world champions are already 27 points behind Renault after just three races but Schumacher claims his struggles so far this season have masked Ferrari’s speed.
“We are certain that we are in better shape than may appear from the outside,” he said.
“The potential is there. Now we have to improve even more and be consistent. We are working towards this with our development programme.”
Schumacher is encouraged by recent testing and claims next weekend’s San Marino Grand Prix marks the true start of his championship challenge.
He added: “We are full of hope. Last week’s tests went according to plan and this is always a good sign in our sport.
“Things are fine on the team. Everyone is pulling in the right direction and we all want to win.
“The beginning of the European season should coincide with the start of our drive for the world title.”
