Cool Eis has six appeal for Elite
Elite Racing Club has high hopes for Eisteddfod in the major six-furlong sprints this season.
The five-year-old, owned and bred by Elite, won the Group Three Prix de Meautry at Deauville last August and ended the campaign beaten just two and a half lengths in seventh place behind Avonbridge in the Prix de L’Abbaye at Longchamp in October.
The Cadeaux Genereux gelding, trained by Paul Cole, is set to reappear in the Listed Blandford Bloodstock Abernant Stakes at Newmarket on Tuesday.
“He won his Group Three at Deauville last year and he’s entered in the Listed Abernant Stakes at Newmarket next week,” said Elite racing manager Matthew Budden.
“He’s a lovely progressive horse.
“He may start his season off there and then there’s the Duke Of York Stakes at York next month. If he runs well next week I think we’d look to set him up there.
“He’s had a good winter, is in good form and seems to be coming to hand well.
“He’s a horse that wants cut in the ground and sometimes going abroad is the best place to get it.”
