Firms with vacancies down to 12% in March
13/04/2006 - 08:12:47The percentage of companies reporting job vacancies has fallen in the past month, according to the Economic and Social Research Institute and FAS.
In their latest employment and vacancies survey, the two organisations say 12% of companies reported vacancies in March, compared to 17% in February.
The decline is due to a significant reduction in vacancies in the services sector, while retail sector vacancies remained stable.
Elsewhere, the ESRI and FAS say private sector firms are expecting an increase in their employment levels in the coming months, with the services sector the most optimistic about future prospects.
