Keddy rocket serves up victory for Drogheda

A wonder goal from James Keddy ended Linfield’s hold on the Setanta Sports Cup at Windsor Park tonight.
The victory has booked Drogheda’s berth in the final against Cork City on Saturday, April 22.
The FAI Cup holders were positive from the start and deserved what proved their winner on 32 minutes.
Substitute Mark Leech laid the ball off to Keddy on the left and the winger took a touch to unleash a stunning left-foot drive that flew inside the near post from over 25 yards.
Drogheda would have extended their lead on the hour mark but for a remarkable treble save.
Blues’ keeper Alan Mannus initially stopped Paul Keegan’s drive before Oran Kearney somehow kept out two follow-up shots from Fitzpatrick.
Blues pressed late on and skipper Glen Ferguson brought a good tip-over save from Charlie Treacy ten minutes from time as Drogheda held out for a deserved win.
