Production increases by 0.3% in three months
The seasonally-adjusted volume of industrial production for manufacturing industries for the three-month period December 2005 to February 2006 was up 0.3% on the preceding three-month period.
On an annual basis, production for all industries in February 2006 was 5.3% lower than in February 2005.
The “modern” sector, comprising a number of high-technology and chemical sectors, showed an annual decrease in production for February 2006 of 9.6%, while an increase of 4.2% was recorded in the “traditional” sector.
The seasonally adjusted industrial turnover for manufacturing industries was 4% higher in the three-month period December 2005 to February 2006, when compared with the preceding three month period.
On an annual basis, turnover in February 2006 was 10% higher than in February 2005.
