Israel tells Gaza residents to avoid rocket launch areas

07/04/2006 - 09:32:35
Israeli military aircraft today dropped leaflets in the northern Gaza Strip, urging civilians to stay away from rocket-launching sites for their own safety.

The warning, signalling further military activity is imminent, was issued shortly after Israeli aircraft carried out a series of airstrikes in Gaza in response to three rocket attacks from Gaza toward Israel. The rockets caused some damage, but no casualties.

Israeli naval forces also pounded targets in northern Gaza today, the army said. There were no reports of casualties.
