Five Palestinian militants killed in missile strike
07/04/2006 - 19:54:33Israeli aircraft fired missiles into a militants’ training camp in the Gaza Strip tonight killing five men, including a senior bombmaker and a child, hospital officials said.
Twelve people were wounded including one who was in a coma and hooked up to a respirator, Palestinian security officials said.
Among those killed was Iyad Abul Aynayn, 29, a bombmaker for the Popular Resistance Committees, a militant group responsible for attacks on Israeli targets in the past.
Israeli aircraft fired four missiles, the security officials said.
One of the missiles hit a car in the camp in the southern Gaza town of Rafah, on the border with Egypt.
The Israeli military later said the aircraft fired the missiles as the car was leaving the training camp.
