Business group seeks ‘university status’ for Waterford
07/04/2006 - 10:47:41Business people in Waterford are calling on the Government to grant the city "university status".
Waterford Chamber says upgrading the city's Institute of Technology to full university status would create more than 700 new jobs and generate as much as €97m for the local economy.
The issue is due to be discussed at a conference being held later today to examine how to further develop the Waterford area.
