Newcastle for inspection
06/04/2006 - 13:53:46Saturday’s meeting at Newcastle is subject to an inspection at midday tomorrow.
The track is currently unraceable due to waterlogging and clerk of the course James Armstrong is looking for some significant improvement over the next 24 hours.
“Things have improved since Monday, when there was water lying everywhere,” he said.
“Although it has improved, we are still a long way from being able to race so we have called an inspection for midday tomorrow.
“We will see how things progress but I wouldn’t be overly optimistic at present.
“A lot depends on tonight. If we have a dry night we might have a squeak.”
