20,000 tickets for Munster supporters

04/04/2006 - 15:40:38
Munster will get 20,000 tickets for the Heineken Cup semi-final with Leinster.

Their opponents will get the same number with 8,000 going to tournament organisers the ERC for the 48,000 capacity Lansdowne Road. The tickets will be distributed to the Munster and Leinster branches later this week and they will allocate tickets to clubs and supporters’ clubs.

Munster PRO Pat Geraghty confirmed today that no tickets will go on sale to the public.

“This is the biggest game in the Heineken Cup for years,” he said.

“The interest in it has been unprecedented and the fact is, Munster could fill Lansdowne on their own on the day.”

Meanwhile, the advice for fans going to the semi-final is to book early and book online.

Andrew Roche, business development manager at Kent Station, Cork said “every carriage will be at a premium” that weekend with the NFL final at Croke Park and the hurling semi -finals down for decision too.
