Ryanair may face €4,000 bill for Derry landing gaffe
02/04/2006 - 12:44:21Ryanair could be forced to shell out around €4,000 for accidentally landing at the wrong airport.
It has being reported that the British Ministry of Defence is considering invoicing the airline for touching down at an RAF base in Ballykelly, Co Derry.
Last Wednesday's incident involved a Ryanair flight from Liverpool operated by charter airline Eirjet.
Usually airlines would pay the published charges at any airport which they land at.
The Ministry of Defence said it will contact the airline if they decide to charge them for the inconvenience.
Ballykelly does not have any published charges, but is understood to that the applicable charge would be in the region of €4,000.
