Three killed in fighting at Palestinian funeral
31/03/2006 - 16:57:09Rival Palestinian factions clashed at the funeral of a militant today, killing three people and wounding 25 others, hospital officials said.
“We have a big mess here,” said Dr Bakr Abu-Safira, an emergency room physician.
Hospital officials said two of the dead were bystanders, and a third was a member of the Popular Resistance Committees who had been marching in the funeral procession.
The violence erupted at the funeral of a top commander of the PRC, who died in a mysterious car explosion earlier in the day.
The PRC accused Palestinian security personnel of carrying out the killing, sparking widespread unrest in Gaza City.
