Tipperary man drowns on holiday in Australia
30/03/2006 - 12:34:40A 27-year-old Irishman has drowned while on holiday with his girlfriend in Australia.
The man, who died yesterday while swimming near Queensland, has been named locally as Liam Connolly, from Cahir.
His death has shocked the town, where he had a long association with the local GAA.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is investigating his death and providing assistance to his family.
